We've been happily involved in alot of "finals" with Garrett and a lot of "firsts" as well. Below is the final swim meet of the year and senior night. Garrett's strongest stroke is the butterfly and he had an excellent season - getting to go to districts at the end of the year. The thing I love about the swim team here and other places we have lived is that it attracts such good kids and good families. If you aren't into speedos, scroll down past the next few pictures!

Garrett and other seniors were also honored this Friday at a banquet hosted by Rep. Whittman from Virginia's first district. We have always heard good things and had excellent experiences with the man and his office! He presented garrett with a Nomination for the Merchant Marine Academy. I think Rhett exceeded Garrett's excitement during the evening. Rhett wasn't able to get a nomination for the Academy, but still worked really hard and had a good military career. Garrett found out the day before the banquet that he was accepted to BYU-Provo too. He'll have some different options and will take the path that is right for him! Meanwhile the time is ticking till he leaves, but he has been ready for this for a while.

I love hearing about Garrett and can't wait to see what he decides. It is so bittersweet to watch these kids grow up - so exciting, but lots of tugs on the heartstrings. If we move back there and you guys are gone I will just die - please stay there for a while longer.
Congratulations to Garret. It's hard to believe he's a senior already...life is moving too quickly!
